Dr. Yoon presents during webinar on non-animal inhalation testing

ToxStrategies toxicologist Dr. Miyoung Yoon contributed to a webinar series on non-animal approaches for inhalation toxicity testing titled, “Integrated approaches for assessing the toxicity of inhaled substances.” She presented on the topic of in vitro–to–in vivo extrapolation (IVIVE) and physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling as in vitro methods of conducting inhalation toxicity testing. Dr. Yoon provided the introduction to the IVIVE and PBPK modeling approaches, including their applications to safety assessment of inhaled substances.

This mini-webinar series is part of continued efforts by the PETA International Science Consortium and the US National Toxicology Program (NTP) Interagency Center for the Evaluation of Alternative Toxicological Methods (NICETAM), after they conducted workshops on non-animal approaches for inhalation toxicity testing.
